This approach to a signalling system for lines carrying low traffic volumes is designed to offer the highest degree of safety. The continuous track monitoring achieves this goal while at the same time relieving train and operating staff from the burden of checking train integrity. The investment costs have been kept to minimum by integrating the track monitoring, the block and the remote control field station electronics in one compact unit. The use of established MCL relay circuits has kept the signalling in line with standard railway practice.
