The TIDIE knowledge representation system, used on the Robotic Air Vehicle program, is described. The basic constructs, called plans and needs, are described in detail. The advantages of plans and needs in representing the knowledge used to control a vehicle are discussed briefly. Other features of the knowledge representation are mentioned. The first and second implementations are described briefly.
