Since a couple of years, personal vehicles have been equipped with new functionalities (adaptive cruise control, pedestrian detection...) aiming at helping the driver in his task and at improving security. The purpose of this paper is to present a state of the art on autonomous vehicles dealing with both technological aspects and use case points of view. After a presentation of the definitions and the concepts associated to autonomous vehicles, the associated application classes are explained.
