In this paper, the dynamic behaviour of an electric vehicle is analysed and simulated. The mechanical parameters of the vehicle, ambient air, and terrain are aspects which affect the vehicle dynamics. To overcome all the forces against vehicle we need a motor with a reasonable power. The electric vehicle was simulated using two different approaches, in MATLAB/Simulink. The first approach uses motor torque as an input reference. The second approach uses demanded track profile and takes into account the speed-torque characteristic of the electric motor. We can therefore choose a suitable motor to achieve the desired dynamic behaviour.
