Since its introduction in the 1970s, the Porsche 911 Turbo is one of the world's best sports cars in terms of performance, economy and aerodynamics. In order to establish the new 911 Turbo as a segment leader and based on the extensive knowledge of active aerodynamic systems, the engineers equipped the vehicle with an additional aerodynamic dimension ... heralding the birth of a shapeshifter. The new 911 Turbo manages to perfectly combine the apparently conflicting criteria of day-to-day usability, low fuel consumption and race circuit performance. The solution used here is Porsche Active Aerodynamics (PAA), which ensures best-in-class performance for every customer requirement and every driving situation. The most important key data of the new 911 Turbo include: Drag Cd 0 0,31; Total lift CL = -0,15; Front ramp angle α = 10,3°. The aerodynamics of the new Porsche 911 Turbo yet again set the standard in the production sports car segment. Thanks to Porsche Active Aerodynamics, it is possible for the first time to switch between two different aerodynamic modes while maintaining the same lift balance CLF - CLR. It therefore covers an aerodynamic range combining ecology and driving dynamics from which normal vehicles are excluded. The aerodynamic coefficients for the three different PAA operating conditions are shown in a table.
