Since the consumer needs to extend anti-corrosion warranty for automobile body were continuously grown up in these days, highly corrosion resistant Zn-Al-Mg coated steel has been focused as a good alternative materials. In this study, Hot-dipped galvannealed steel sheet and Zn-Al-Mg (ZM) coated steel sheet for automotive panels were investigated for comparison of their corrosion properties. ZM has better corrosion resistance than GA in bare state. But it was reversed after electro-painted state and it was strongly related with paint coating defects and corrosion test condition. ZM has a weak blistering resistance because the defects of phosphate coating are played as a role of initiation site of cathodic blistering.
