The upgrade and reconstruction of blocks involved in urban regeneration shall be realized from multiple aspects. Featuring advanced technologies and laws of culture, arts and economy, industrial design has become one of the important tools for urban regeneration in four facets: Carry forward urban history and culture, and embody the connotation of regeneration; forge local image and focus on visual communication; optimize environmental quality and promote the overall design; develop tourism products and promote product quality. In this paper, the author takes Simeitang Plot of Wuhan as an example to systematically interpret the major work layers of industrial design and its combination with project content, so as to provide reference for similar design researches and, at the same time, offer more research directions for enhancing the integration of industrial design and urban construction in future.
