This paper describes the Ammonia Storage and Delivery System (ASDS) invented by Amminex Emissions Technology A/S and developed into a full automotive compliant product by Faurecia. System layout and functional advantages are detailed with a focus on system management and associated high safety level. The ASDS system is considered as the second generation of Ammonia SCR technology and will be specially suited for next emission regulation targets including real driving condition (RDE) and SCRF applications (SCR impregnated DPF). The ability of ASDS to solve major AdBlue systems drawback is described especially the injector and exhaust line plugging as well as system packaging. ASDS allows higher NO(x) conversion which can be converted in fuel savings in the range of 1 to 10% depending on exhaust line architecture and heating strategies. This technology is considered production ready, cartridges service and distribution schemes in Europe and the US are described.
