Around the world, Bosch is consistently driving the introduction of new assistance functions forward - from today's 'always on' to the automated driving of the future. Even today, the vehicle is part of the emerging internet of things and services. Bosch offers comprehensive solutions ranging from data collection, storage, and analysis to complete customer services. On request, however, it can also offer individual elements of this value-added chain. Bosch assets in this context are its experience across all vehicle classes, regional necessities and customer specific requirements and its ability to evaluate the right data in any control unit. Extensive and profound knowledge of the system technologies and physics allows analysis and prediction of system status and behavior. In addition, the Business Rules Management and Business Process Management tools allow data to be administered and made available. Major focus for the automotive industry will be the establishment of an 'automotive cloud' for automotive specific data and functionality with predictable security and quality-of-service levels. Since this automotive cloud is a key prerequisite for enhanced and new driver assistance functions on the path towards automated driving, it relies on a maximum amount of data with highest possible reliability and accuracy. Cross-manufacturer standardization and integration of those data seems to be a good way to achieve this goal in a fast and sustainable way.
