Schaeffler Technologies AG & Co.KG have developed an HV electric axle drive system meanwhile in its 3rd generation, which is suitable for a wide rage of different vehicles and applications. By means of a modular system it can be adapted in terms of performance and optional functions according to the individual customer's requirements. With its optional electro mechanic torque vectoring system it combines an outstanding electrical performance with enhanced vehicle dynamics and fun-to-drive. For the traction motor a new winding process was introduced, with which the energy density of the motor could have been maximized. By means of this the motor's dimensions are reduced and a peak power of 65 kW (<60s) and a maximum wheel torque of 2000 Nm is reached. With the TV-system a maximum lock torque of 1600 Nm is possible.
