Occupant restraints, such as seat belts and air bags, are the best solution and highly effective in preventing death and injury from traffic collisions. Seat belts are easy to use, effective and inexpensive means of protection in an accident. There are now no cars in production in any country which do not have seat belts in all front and rear seats as standard. This paper gives a broad outlook about the properties of seat belt fabrics produced with different fibres, linear densities and weaves.
