A cellular automata based model was presented for the simulation of passenger transfer behavior in metro stations. Microscopic simulation experiments of passenger behaviors ran under typical scenarios to study the effects of passenger number and train connection on transfer efficiency. The results show that tansfer distance and transfer facility capacity have regular effect on transfer time with fluctuation of passenger numbers. And train connection effects on transfer time with the influence of transfer distances. Therefore, sensitivity of transfer time was put forth as an indicator of coordination of passenger flow, facility attribute and train connection. Passenger flow sensitivity coefficient and connection sensitivity coefficient were defined as quantitative indicators to evaluate transfer coordination which was once difficult to quantify. Case study shows that the indicators reflect coordination level of transfer station effectively.
