For future electric vehicles, multimotor systems will become more and more important. Conventional power electronic topologies are not well adoptable to these requirements. In this paper, the new Modular High Frequency (MHF) Converter is investigated, which fulfils additional requirements like ultralight weight, high efficiency and excellent dynamic behaviour. It enables the operation of several drives on a common DC-Bus without disturbing interactions or failure propagation. This Paper shows possible applications of the MHF in different multimotor appl, the resulting dynamic behaviour and the achievable efficiency.
