For spreading electric vehicles (EVs), battery charging infrastructures are indispensable. These days, floorstanding type rapid battery charger is developing. However, if cars have vehicle-mounted chargers, it is possible to charge from household outlet and to ease the anxiety of dead battery. In battery chargers, AC input power is converted into DC and supplied to the battery through PFC circuit and DC-DC converter. Aluminum electrolytic capacitors are for filtering. Vehicle-mounted usage requires small volume and severe vibration and temperature endurance, so vehicle-mounted electronic components have to be downsized and guaranteed high reliability. We would like to introduce the vehicle-mounted aluminum electrolytic capacitor for plug-in battery charger which is 30% downsized from the conventional one by reducing internal loss, and endures the severe vibration (ISO 16750-3 TEST IV Passenger car, sprung masses).
