The European research project interactive takes the next step towards the goal of accidentfree traffic, interactive develops advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) for safer driving that autonomously brake and steer. The driver is continuously supported by interactive assistance systems. These warn the driver in potential dangerous situations. The systems do not only react to driving situations, but are also able to actively intervene by braking and steering in order to protect occupants and vulnerable road users. The paper gives an overview about the active safety applications in interactive and the corresponding system architecture.
