Electric and hybrid vehicles will be accompanied by a growing number of electrically actuated auxiliary components and a substantial increase of electric power comsumption. Due to size restrictions expecially in hybrid cars, mechatronic integration will play an important role for future automotive power electronics. Besides size, high temperature capability, robustness of the function, and reliability will be key requirements.
