POSCO have invested a CGL(Continuous Galvanizing Line) to produce 450.000 tons per year of hot dip galvanized and galvannealed steel sheet for automobile in Maharashtra, India. This project has been propelled to produce high quality external panel for automobile including home appliances. Other necessities are as follows. To achieve the goal of 'The annual sales over 6.500.000 tons of steel sheet for automobile', it is essential to be the global leading maker in the world market. Because the domestic sales in Korea have already reached its limit, sales on overseas is an inevitable assignment under the severe economical environment. Furthermore, increasing local site purchasing is also a significant reason why the overseas plant is required. For this project, POSCO E&C(POSCO Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd.) participates as a leading company and endeavors to construct the plant by executing on a E.P.C.(Engineering, Procurement, Construction) turn-key basis. POSCO E&C provides the most optimized facilities to POSCO-MAHARASHTRA by using our own rich technical knowledge and experience, which were acquired from numbers of accomplishment of CGL project on domestic and overseas. Hence, this paper describes each section and specializing features of POSCO-MAHARASHTRA CGL project.
