Emissions and fuel efficiency requirements are driving the need for highly efficient, integrated drive train systems for off-highway vehicles. Hydro-mechanical power split transmissions (HMT) can fulfill this need. This paper will present the 45 degree bent axis kit technology which is currently applied in the agricultural tractor market. Further, the development of the dual yoke concept, which is based on the 45 degree technology, provides a simple, robust and highly efficient IVT for use in HMTs. Performance predictions demonstrating the capability of this new concept compared to the existing solutions in the market today will also be presented.
