In this paper the authors present the results of a measurement of the applicable mechanical disturbances for Satcom-On-The-Move antennas in different driving scenarios. In particular, angular velocities and accelerations are considered. The measurement data is analyzed in both time and frequency domain to derive typical requirements for the design of tracking antenna systems. It is further shown that on this data, lowpass filtering before deriving the required accelerations causes only an insignificant error in the pointing angle, but has significant effect on the required accelerations.
