The demand of passengers to be informed by public transportation companies has risen with the upcoming of new technologies. Today, many passengers own mobile phones with low-cost Internet access. Thus, this new technology is expected to be used for passenger information. In this paper, we focus on one particular kind of information: urgent knowledge about events, such as delays or cancellations, which have a high impact on passengers' ad hoc behavior and as well on the perceived customer satisfaction. As a solution, we propose in this paper to use an event-based system to push urgent and relevant information to passengers. We show how existing generic models of event-based systems may be applied to this scenario.
