In our modern world, there are a number of wireless communication systems and broadcasting services with must be integrated into vehicles. However, there is very limited space for a lot of gadgets, so the need for low-cost, compact but highly efficient antennas without the need of an amplifier is essential. This document describes a low-cost, small and rugged Patch Antenna which features two individual Digital Audio Broadcasting / Digital Multi-media Broadcasting (DAB/DMB) reception ports for sound- & multi-media broadcasts into vehicles in L-Band. Providing two separate feeding points for DAB/DMB reception, independent tuners can be attached. The antenna has an impedance match better than 10 dB for the entire frequency range of 1452-1492 MHz and better than 45 dB decoupling between ports, suitable for diversity or Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO)-applications. As the dual-port patch antenna provides an antenna gain of about +7 dBi on boresight and -2 dBi in azimuth (theta =85 deg) for each port already, a low-noise amplifier seems not necessary.
