Different power steering systems were actually employed to ensure automotive safety and comfort. The development of new technologies is still deciding for full-power steering systems. In this paper, linear actuator is proposed to set up the active road-wheel steering. Required steering effort is approached using only fundamental mechanic equations. Secondly, predicting thrust force and the magnetic field distribution addresses issues that are essential to the actuator designer, whereas, finite element modeling can validate. The proposed synchronous permanent magnet linear actuator with double stator seems to be well fitted to provide handy direct load and easy control. It should as well simplify steering mechanisms and drive devices.
