A cable rope for a balloon complex has been developed that allows one to lift and hold an anchored balloon at working altitude, to transmit electrical energy, and to exchange information signals with the ground control station. The carrying element in the developed cable rope is made in the form of a core winding of synthetic fibres based on high-modulus polymeric fibres. The high modulus polymeric fibres are characterized by small breaking elongation (1.9 %), high breaking strength (2.4 - 4.5 GPa) and low density (1.4 g/cm3). To protect synthetic fibres from the influence of the external environment, an outer sheath of polymers and different composite materials is incorporated into the structure of the cable rope. The structure of the presented cable rope consists of two electric conductors and two fibre-optical modules for the transmission of communication signals.
