This study investigates whether the handling of secondary tasks via the head-up display (HUD) influences drivers' situation awareness to a higher degree than the handling of tasks in the central information display located in the central information console (CID). The analysis of the dynamic driving and operating behavior and the evaluation of the discrete driving data shows that the display location has no significant influence on the driving behavior. It can only be concluded that HUD interaction is more efficient.
