As one of applications of traffic sign detection and recognition technology using camera, speed limit indication system (SLIS), which indicates latest speed limit (sign) information to driver, has been already introduced into market by several OEMs. Although SLIS is supposed to provide benefit for driver to be aware of the latest speed limit of the current road segment, their effect on driving behavior is not well known. Based on this motivation, this paper investigates the effect of different SLIS on speed keeping behavior of driver. At first, system ergonomic analysis of speed keeping behavior is discussed to model the human machine interaction of SLIS. With this result, experiment for speed keeping behavior analysis is designed. Through the experiment with 24 subjects using a static driving simulator, speed keeping behavior is analyzed. From the results, it has been turned out that the subjects are affected by SLIS in a characteristic way.
