The oil impregnated sintered bearings of power window motors, power seat motors and other motors used for automobiles, low friction coefficient is required. Because, down sizing and weight reduction of motors have been demanded. It is effective to decrease bearing friction for the down sizing and weight reduction of the motor. It is effective that an oil film holding capability is improved by refinement of the pore for reducing the friction coefficient of the sintered bearing. Therefore, the technique of the refinement of the pore by the increase density and use of the fine powder has mainly been applied. However, there are some problems, such as shorter life of the sintered bearing, because of decrease of oil content by high density. On the other hand, the productivity of sintered bearing deteriorates, because of turn worse a flow rate by using fine powder. This study describes the development of the iron-bronze sintered bearing materials which has not only the fine pore, but also high oil content, using low A.D. and high porous iron powder. It was confirmed that oil film holding capability by low permeability, even if this material has the high oil content, and that it shows the lower friction coefficient.
