To find solutions for defect detection by ultrasound different kind of objects need different ways to get to good verifiability. A lot of effects like influence of wall sides of the part, surface conditions, geometry, material noise, etc. may worsen the scan results if not avoid. This material has reflections from grain which corresponds to a fiat bottom hole of up to 1,2 mm. Under the general condition of a signal to noise ration of 2 (6 dB), it is impossible to detect defects smaller than a flat bottom hole of 1,5 mm. The material grain needs to be of a higher standard or the detection of defects needs to have a lower border, e.g. FBH 1,5 mm.
