Process for shaping of aircraft wheels with large surface in parting plane of dies by forging the two-phase titanium alloy rings was analyzed. Boundary conditions were considered for several technologies, assuming the stock forging and tool temperature, friction factor and strain rate measured as velocity of tool (hammer and hydraulic press) motion. The maps of distribution of effective strain rate, temperature and mean stress were used as the base for evaluation. According to the results of numerical analysis of the data, the hydraulic press showed the best conditions for the forging (reduction of thermal effects and deformation resistance, low temperature gradient). In the case of hydraulic press, the specific load was 3 times lower at the strain rate 0.01 mm/s and 2 times lower at the strain rate 1 mm/s than in the case of hammer.
