Fast High Performance Marine Vehicles require a very lightweight hut strong structure. Within the framework of a European research and development project a fast monohull was designed. Comprehensive theoretical and experimental studies were performed on design, engineering and production utilizing HT69. The paper briefly outlines the general design and the steel design of the midship section. Series of small scale specimens, semi complex specimens andfull scale truck deck and main frame girder sections were theoretically, numerically and experimentally tested.
