A test bed for telepresent space applications that utilize geostationary satellites for data relay has been developed at the Institute of Astronautics. The focus of the research is the verification of a new developed Inter Satellite Link Antenna for small satellites its steering mechanism and pointing algorithm. Furthermore link properties, the signal round trip times and the applicability of CCSDS protocols are subject to the investigations for which a real inter-satellite link towards the ESA relay satellite ARTEMIS will be established. For the development of the test environment an existing ground station has been modified and connected to a satellite attitude simulator. A first test scenario including bilateral telecontrol is described.
