John Deere tractors are developed and built at several locations across the globe. The Product Verification and Validation (PV&V) department ensures that the tractors fulfill their specifications and all customer requirements. Each John Deere tractor design center is not only responsible for developing, but also for testing the assigned tractor models under all necessary conditions to meet the different local requirements. To accomplish this, the different design centers for tractors, engines and implements work together to design and test the products. They use common processes, simulation tools, lab equipment and test sites for planning and executing PV&V activities. Early detection and corrective action are essential to eliminate potential problems before production and release of a new product. Performance and durability of new prroducts is also validated at test sites, globally distributed to hit all relevant applications and load conditions while operated by selected farmers and contractors. depending on the test site and seasons this test ma be run 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. Everything that happens on a test tractor, like failure, a service, a repair or an observation is acalled an event and reproted in a shared internetbased and therefore worldwide-accessible tracking system. The same tracking system is used by all JD Units . Therefore it is also possible to connects products like a loader to the tractor. John deere uses a Product Use Database to store various tractor applications from all over the globe. In addition to field testing with operators runing the tractors, John Deere also uses autonomous testing methods to verify the durability of tractors. In this case the tractor autonomously runs in a confined area and may perform differnt tasks such as road transport, bump road, running with load units, loader tests, etc.
