A MVB (multifunction vehicle bus) controller using SOPC (system-on-a-programmable-chip) technology is presented in this paper. The SOPC technology, developed by Altera Corporation, consists of a FPGA (field programmable gate array) and a Nios embedded processor. The MVB access IP (intellectual property), which is designed in Verilog HDL (hardware description language), executes the function of data encoding and decoding and checkout. The Nios embedded processor manages the execution of components in the controller. The simulation and experimental result is present.
