This paper presents a methodology for the conceptual design synthesis and subsequent automated structural dynamic analysis of satellites. The focus lies in the formalization of the design synthesis process in the conceptual design of satellite structures by using a design language. The design language provides the foundation for the rule based generation of a modular design repository called design graph. An interface between this repository and a finite element analysis software is extended in order to automatically generate analysis models from the design repository. The long-term goal of this approach is to obtain a conceptual design language which is able to generate a diversity of satellite structure topologies along with an automated analysis. This shall ultimately lead to an optimiziation tool which yields topologically and functionally optimized satellite structure designs. First layouts and analysis' of satellite structures which were generated using the discussed approach shall be presented in this paper, along with a description of how the methodology is currently applied and can be extended to generate new design topologies.
