VIVACE - Value Improvement through a Virtual Aeronautical Collaborative Enterprise - a four year EC project, is now half way through. Within the VIVACE project, one goal is to develop collaboration environments for the European aeronautical industry. For this the concept of the Virtual Enterprise Collaboration Hub, VEC-Hub, consisting of different sets of services has been developed. The sets of services range from security services to configuration management and engineering analysis services. All services shall be accessible as web services. The VEC-Hub is the environment to manage these web services with relevant security. The hub, based on standards, is letting the suppliers and OEMs work together without the need to impose specific tools. It is adding configuration control and enabling automated workflows. The use of Share-A-space adds functionalities for versioning and consolidation, enabled by the use of the ISO standard PLCS.
