Combining the skills and knowledge from many countries, the Ormen Lange/ Langeled sub-sea gas pipeline project demonstrated constructive technological cooperation at a global level. The Canadian contribution highlighted the commitment to advancing the recognition and growth of the phased array AUT inspection of pipeline girth welds. This article briefly describes the project and discusses several of the technical challenges encountered.
