As well as in other developed countries, the traffic in the Czech Republic (CR) represents one of main antropogenic factors, which due to its development influences negatively the quality of the environment. Waste and dangerous matter from traffic problematic is very actual topic, especially because of growing number of registered vehicles in CR and its average age, which is in the moment approximately about 13 years. The disposal of old vehicles with terminated lifespan is huge problem together with the production of emissions created during waste incineration. The problem of the origin of dangerous matter in traffic, especially during work of motor vehicles and also problem of waste and its removal possibilities are discussed in this article. The emphasis also is placed to legislation instruments and the comparison the emission production situation to the CR and some selected countries of European Union. Remedy to decrease the emissions depends on intensity of traffic and the composition of a traffic stream. The composition of vehicles is progressively changing to higher quantity of newer vehicles with efficient catalytic converters, which match up to strict EURO regulations. Hopefully, this could help the bad emission production situation. By contrast, traffic intensity is still growing up, so these trends are slowed down, until the distribution of transportational work between individual and public traffic is changed. In the sphere of waste manipulation, the prevention and minimalization of waste is very important and could lead to better environmental protection. This is related to the construction of vehicles, which won't contain dangerous materials and will be adapted for easy disassembling and sorting.
