In recent years rollover accidents have become more significant in number. Computer modeling is becoming more widely used for the reconstruction of rollover accidents. PC-Crash is a modeling program which is able to simulate the vehicle motion during rollover events. Another aspect of these rollover events is the occupant motion during the rollover. MADYMO is a modeling program which is able to simulate the motion of occupants during crashes. MADYMO also has the capability to interface with PC-Crash and utilize the vehicle motion output to determine the motion of the occupant during a rollover event. Once the occupant motion has been determined, the results can then be reimported into PC-Crash and the models combined. This study focuses on the modeling of an actual rollover event in which the occupant was ejected. PC-Crash is used to determine the vehicle motion and MADYMO is used to determine the occupant motion. Finally, the vehicle motion and the occupant motion models are combined. The resulting model is able to produce videos of the actual simulations for further analysis and demonstrative purposes. The resulting model is also compared to documented evidence from the accident scene.
