In recent years, not only air pollution in the urban area but also the global warming is made a problem, and the control of exhaust gas including carbon dioxide (CO2) is requested. Hino Motors,Ltd. started to tackle to this problem from an early stage, and developed the parallel hybrid technology, and put the lower pollution truck and bus to practical use. Exhaust gas and carbon dioxide are decreased further, because the system can widely use various energy resources. This system based on hybrid technology also aiming at recovering more regenerative braking energy and the highly effective system. It is necessary to aim at the hybrid system's improving of further resurrection energy and making to highly effective to achieve the target, and use various energy resources widely. The next-generation hybrid system is composed of the little displacement-turbocharger-diesel engine, the permanent magnet type of synchronous machine as to high efficiency, the One-Way-Clutch in the space between the engine and the motor, High-performance the lithium-ion-battery, and the IPT-system (Inductive Power Transfer) which can feed it by non-contact. The One-Way-Clutch is the mechanism which the influence of the engine friction isn't taken from at the time of the vehicles slowdown. And, the lithium-ionbattery is excellent in the charge-and-discharge characteristic for low resistance. The result when the next generation hybrid system is examined on the bench is shown as follows. Exhaust gas has been reduced to 1/10 or more of the Japan New Long Term Regulation. The fuel consumption has decreased to 1/2 compared with the conventional vehicle.
