Selected problems of transient temperature measurements during investigations performed in an icing research tunnel (IRT) are discussed. Both the technique of measurements and the results obtained for certain investigated objects are considered. The experiments have been carried out in a small scale subsonic IRT. The temperature has been measured using tiny thermocouples and the signals have been recorded applying multi-channel data acquisition boards. The investigated objects have been the Pitot tube and the NACA 0012 model airfoil. Some interesting phenomena have been revealed. The analysis of the results contributes to better understanding of icing occurring at some aircraft components.
