Machinery within the agricultural market must achieve high productivity whereas the operator should meet with less stress and higher comfort. To fulfil these requirements the complete electro hydraulic systems must continuously be developed and improved. A system architecture which offer flexibility, expandability and commonality is appreciated. In Sauer-Danfoss' s latest development of tractor systems all functionalities have been considered, respective subsystems have been designed and built into a complete integrated solution. A system layout for a load sensing based system with variable pump is described. Apart from the steering unit OSP that is operated by a steering wheel all other functions are electrically operated by the same type of actuators, PVE, whether it is an implement-, hitch- or steering function. Auxiliary valves for implements are described as well as the valve for hitch function, the most demanding among the working functions requiring fast and accurate responding valves. The system architecture is based upon a modular concept. In a valve module each and every part can be changed without the need for calibration. No matter which function of the tractor is served the respective valve modules can look alike and be operated in the same way. A hydrostatic steering is an established part of a tractor system. Electro hydraulic steering is an optional part, increasingly demanded. The electrical input makes it possible to adapt the steering behavior to the driving situation and enables automatic steering in a closed loop control.
