Three tank cars types of new generation were developed and constructed. The cars are intended for rail transport of light petroleum products (model 15-195, load capacity 72 t, tank capacity 85.8 m3), heavy and viscous petroleum products (model 15-565, load capacity 71 t, tank capacity 75 m3) and gasoline (model 15-566, load capacity 71 t, tank capacity 100 m3). The cars have a frameless self-supporting construction and are equipped with a new draining system allowing the full emptying of the tank, a protection screen on the tank bottom, a reliable closure of the filler, an efficient heater for liquifying the viscous media as well as elastometric bumpers of high shock energy absorbability. For the designing the tank cars, the ANSYS computer program was used to estimate the loads and stresses in particular elements of the construction.
