It is of great importance to determine the most efficient machinery system for each farm structure being present. Therefore it is necessary to elaborate a mathematical method for planning machinery system for all plant growing farms, which encourages agricultural production and contributes to established basic principles of sustainable farming. The company optimum of the mechanization is a machinery system and a working program, which keeps machinery operation- and operation costs, specific investment cost and labor expenses at a minimum level if all technological tasks are carried out in adequate time and quality. To solve the present problems of agricultural mechanization the optimal machine utilization and its construction can be approached from a new point of view. The author has improved the well crystallized and very efficient programming methodology. Extra emphasis has been laid on the level of utilization of the power machines, enabling hereby the optimum level of machine utilization cost. The following points are outlined: 1. minimum machine utilization cost according to machine utilization, 2. the computer model, 3. structure of the crop system, 4. characteristics of the applied power machines and implements. The results of the model calculations are presented. It is shown that the elaborated procedure based on integer valued non-linear programming, which is also able to consider annual operational hours in determining operational cost of power machines is capable of simultaneous planning of both composition and utilization of machinery system, by means of the minimization of machine utilization costs.
