From the point of traffic safety, through examination on driver by psychological and physiological instrument, main indexes that influence driver's psychology and physiology are set up. Relation between heart rate and intensity, characteristics of heart rate spectrum and power are analyzed, and the necessary relation between the response and traffic safety is validated. The study provides scientific gist for reducing and prevention of traffic incidents. In the existing rules of highway design and maintain in China, deciding of road alignment factor value mainly considers the movement and power characteristic of vehicle, but the traffic safety factor is poorly considered. For instance, in the design of vital curves, the movement and power characteristic of vehicle should be considered for vehicle that climb the slope, furthermore, the grade and length should also be considered for vehicle on downgrade. Therefore, characteristic and factor in the existing 'Highway Alignment Design Rule' should be modified based on traffic safety.
