The advantages of an innovative tri-hull design of underwater vehicle in the offshore surveying industry are discussed. The three hulls are firmly connected by a horizontal central connection, a horizontal control surface and a vertical connection, a starboard and port lateral control surface. To minimize flow resistance, the connections are in the form of profiled sections, giving the vehicle the necessary stability in the dynamic condition. The attitude trim system compensates for changes in weight during the mission inside the pressure containers.
