The new high speed features of a heavy electric car are discussed. An electric car named Buckeye Bullet set up a new speed record by crossing 315 mph (506.84 km/h) speed mark. The car gets its name as the Buckeye Bullet Land Speed Racing Team is made up of 12 students at Ohio State University in Columbus. The Bullet weighs about as much as sedan, 4,000 pounds (1816 kg) and the body of the car is 31 feet (9,45 m) long. Energy is stored in a 900-volt system of nickel metal hydride batteries and a converter provided by Saminco of Fort Myers, Florida, USA, switches the direct current from the batteries into the ac power that the motor needs.
