The main purpose of this study is to investigate how to improve the running performance by the secondary suspension of the railway vehicle with the aim of high speed curving. In this paper the analysis and the simulations about ride comfort on curves and running stability are conducted. On ride comfort on curves, it is confirmed that how much the stationary lateral acceleration is reduced by new method of adding the auxiliary lateral springs between the car body and the bogie without changing the lateral and the vertical vibrations of the car body. On running stability, it is confirmed that how effective the yawing rotational stiffness and the lateral damping between the bogie and the car body are in running stability, and it is concluded that the lateral damper can heighten running stability in case of the bogie without the yaw damper and also the yawing rotational stiffness can be smaller.
