The suspension bushings on the Ferrari 360GT race cars are made from Torlon 4435 polyamideimide (PAI) from Solvay Advanced Polymers. The material's high strength and stiffness allows it to replace metals in many applications. In addition to bushings, the material is a popular choice for rotating and sliding components in automotive, aerospace, and industrial applications for bearings, seal rings, thrust washers, wear pads, fasteners, and thermal insulators.
