A procedure for estimating the probability of puncture of personal protection equipment in function of the bullet velocity was developed. The minimal velocity for achieving the bullet puncture of equipment, the ballistic bullet velocity (50 % probability of puncture) and the maximal velocity for arresting the bullet were used as assumptions for the estimation. As results, the frequency of puncture was calculated from the normal probability distribution (versus bullet velocity). The procedure can be used both by producers of protecting equipment and the designers of ammunition.
