Effect of explosion shock and heat waves and fragments on rats (males), dogs (not thoroughbred), rabbits and pigs was experimentally studied both in closed spaces and under field conditions. The test animals were treated with droperidol and ketaral drugs before tests. The explosive were generated using hand grenades. The most efficient were found primary and secondary fragments (distance up to 25 m), then the shock and heat waves. The shock waves resulted in destroying the tympanic membranes and lungs. The bullet wounds were simulated both on blocks (made of gelatine and glycerol soap), carcasses (or their fragments) and test animals. The lowest kinetic energy necessary for serious injuries was found 67.5 J/cm3 )skin damage) to 183.6 J/cm3 (limb bone damage).
