Panasonic EV Energy (PEVE) has developed the new-prismatic Ni/MH battery module for Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) that succeeded higher power modifying conventional materials and structures. The main improvements are the current pathway structure, which uniforms current distribution and improves high-rated discharge performance, and the positive electrode material. As the results, an increasing 30% of power density compared with conventional type can be achieved, and accomplished the excellent output power of 1300W/kg. The other characteristics of new-prismatic battery are as same as conventional battery.
